The people are the content
In unhurried learning, we start with the learners, not the thing to be learnt. In a world where, allegedly, “content is king” we humans risk being reduced to subjects.
In each of our expeditions, our focus is on the people joining us, what they are experiencing and what they are curious about. Not with our preconceived ideas of what might be good for folks in general.
Let’s say the topic of the expedition is “difficult conversations”. We won’t arrive with generic ideas of how to do them. We want to know what conversations the learners are struggling with and anxious to change. By keeping the focus there, we’re pretty certain that everyone will have more skin in the game.
